We are excited to announce that the Mycological Society of America has accepted our proposal to hold SuilluCamp No. 2 in Portland, Oregon on July 11, 2026, the day before the MSA Conference begins. This full-day symposium will bring together the Suillus research community for scientific exchange, networking, and collaboration. In addition to featured presentations, we will be accepting abstract submissions for contributed talks on all aspects of Suillus research. Abstracts are due by June 1, 2026, and should be limited to 250 words. Beyond the formal presentations, there will be ample opportunities for networking and informal discussions throughout the day. An important part of our agenda will include a vote on the proposed constitution and bylaws for the International Suillus Consortium, marking an exciting milestone in formalizing our collaborative research network. Registration for SuilluCamp will be available through the MSA conference registration page. Full details will be available soon at the MSA Conference Page. We look forward to seeing you in Portland!

SuilluCamp No. 1 marked an exciting milestone for the International Suillus Consortium, bringing together 50 researchers from across the globe on June 28, 2025. Held as a pre-meeting to the Mycological Society of America conference at the University of WI Madison, the day opened with two dynamic symposia exploring key themes in Suillus research. The "Ecology and Evolution" session featured Carolina Piña Páez unveiling the first hypogeous Suillus species, Kabir Peay synthesizing two decades of insights from S. pungens, and Yumiko Miyamoto revealing Suillus dominance across eastern Eurasian larch forests. The "Metals and Mechanisms" symposium showcased Jessica Fletcher's work on heavy metal tolerance, Sunny Liao's exploration of symbiome-mediated nutrient processes, and Joske Ruytinx's findings on adaptive tolerance to metal pollution. A series of engaging lightning talks from early-career researchers Eduardo Pérez-Pazos, Benjamin Reimer, Esther Tok, and Haihua Wang, highlighted the next generation of Suillus science. A midday strategic planning session brought the community together to chart the consortium's path forward and establish collaborative priorities for the year ahead, including a vote to formalize a leadership structure and charter, the creation of a regular ISC newsletter, and plans for future meeting frequency and location.
