The call for Fall 2026 internships for CA community college students is now open!
Research will be conducted on site at the UC Berkeley campus. Mentorship and training provided. To apply, you must be a currently enrolled student in good academic standing at a CA community college, and returning to community college in Spring 2027 for at least one additional term so that the internship can be listed as part of your transfer application. Note that no experience is necessary to apply, but we will prioritize applicants who plan to transfer to a 4-year degree granting institution to pursue a career in STEM, and of course having an interest in fungi/mycology is a plus! The deadline to apply is September 1st 2026. Finalists will be selected for interviews during the first week of September and notified the week after interviews are held (interview dates TBD). Selected participants will need to commit 8 hours per week, for 11 weeks, starting Monday September 28th 2026 and running until Monday December 14th 2026. Program participants will be paid a rate of $25 / hr.
